# What Are Companions?

Companions are AI personalities that match your trading style. Think of it like choosing a character in a game—except this character knows trading and adapts to help YOU win.

A **companion** is your AI's trading personality and focus. When you choose a companion, you're telling the AI:

* What kind of trader you are
* What timeframes you care about

During signup:

1. After creating your account
2. You'll be prompted to "Choose Your Companion"
3. Select the one that matches your style
4. Tap Continue

After signup:

1. Tap **Profile icon** (top left)
2. Go to **Settings**
3. Select **"Choose Ape"** or **"Companion"**
4. Change your selection

**Web:**

During signup:

1. After email verification
2. Choose your companion from the 4 options
3. Click Continue

After signup:

1. Click **Profile** (top right)
2. Go to **Settings**
3. Select **"Choose Companion"**
4. Pick a different one
